Fun Things To Do This Summer in Omaha

Summertime is upon us and not only are the kids excited but so are parents. Throw away the early alarm clocks for the kids and stock up on sunscreen. Summer is the perfect time for kids to learn, explore, and try new things. We have created the perfect bucket list of fun things to do with your kids in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas this summer.

Fun Things To Do This Summer in Omaha with Kids

First things first, get all the family involved in this bucket list. Head to the store to grab a poster board and bright-colored markers. Be prepared to get creative! Creating a vision board and placing it in the kitchen or living room will keep the energy up all summer long. Allow the kids to cross off the bucket list items as they complete them. Parents, get involved in the activities as much as possible.

Summer Olympics Day

Take a trip to the local dollar store and buy all of the water guns and water balloons you can. Also, buy a large bucket that you can fill with water to act as a refill station. This is the time to get the kids involved and be creative. Have them help you set up the games for the Summer Olympics Day. Here are some suggestions:

Water Balloon Toss

Place an object or cone on the ground as a target for the kids to throw water balloons at. With each successful throw, both teammates have to step back to the next cone, etc. If you want to step up the intensity, make it so that each player has to catch the water balloon with a towel held by both hands without popping it.

Long Jump

Get sidewalk chalk and make your starting line. As each competitor jumps, mark the back of their heel as the jump distance. Continue the long jump challenge until everyone has completed 3 attempts.

Pantyhose Bowling

Place a softball in a pair of pantyhose. Each player will then wrap it around their head when it is their turn. Then, place seven to eight water bottles in a line. Each player attempts to knock over the water bottles as fast as possible by swinging the softball.

Water Gun Bucket Fillup

Divide into two teams and place a full bucket of water at the starting point and an empty bucket at the endpoint. You can decide how far you want to place them apart. Using the pull-back water guns, the challenge is to see which team can fill up the empty far bucket first.

Water Balloon Bucket Toss

Spend the extra money and get the large packets of water balloons that fill hundreds at a time. Place five empty, smaller buckets a few feet apart in a row. The challenge is to see who can successfully toss the water balloons into each bucket. Assign a point value to each bucket to determine the winner.

Ninja Warrior Course

The ninja warrior courses are also a favorite destination at The Hub. Our main ninja warrior course has eight different lanes of obstacles. It is always fun to see who can successfully complete each lane as some are much harder than others.Within this same space are our three warped walls, with three different height challenges. Who will be better, kids or parents? We always think about the littles at The Hub, and definitely outdid ourselves on the toddler ninja course area. Again, this space is for kids 6 years and younger and features three levels of soft play. Kids can climb up to the top level and experience the different ninja areas, foam pit, and swings.
